Taft – Aureliano “Wayo / A.G.” Gonzalez passed away July 26, 2017. He was 72. Aureliano was born in Sinton, Texas on June 16, 1945 to Celestino and Margarita (Gamez) Gonzalez. He was a retired welder and a lifelong resident of Taft.

Preceding Aureliano in death are his parents, Celestino and Margarita Gonzalez.

Survivors include his wife Carmen Gonzalez of Taft, Texas; sons: Richard Gonzalez (Frances) of Brenham, Texas; Robert Gonzalez, (Tiffany) of Denton, Texas and Michael Gonzalez of San Antonio, Texas; daughters: Terry Gonzalez of Taft, Texas; Rachel Trevino (Daniel) of Corpus Christi, Texas and Rebecca Gonzalez of Taft, Texas; 7 grandchildren; brothers: Mario Gonzalez and Rudy Gonzalez; sisters: Natalia Tanguma; Gloria Collins; Maggie Jalomo; Beatrice Gonzalez; Patricia Gonzalez; Carmen Gonzalez; Bertha Gonzalez; Gracie Gonzalez; Modesta Gonzalez and Janie Shapley.

Visitation will begin Friday, July 28, 2017, 12:00 PM, at Resthaven Funeral Home, Sinton. A rosary will be recited the same evening, 7:00 PM, at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, July 29, 2017, 10:00 AM, at Immaculate Conception Church, Taft with Father Pete Stanley as celebrant. Burial will follow in Taft Memorial Park Cemetery, Taft.

Pallbearers will be Richard Gonzalez, Robert Gonzalez, Michael Gonzalez, Daniel Trevino, Johnny Gonzalez and Christopher Gonzalez.
