Carmen Casas Hinojosa

Taft – Carmen Casas Hinojosa passed away February 15, 2018 with her loving family at her side. She was 79.

Carmen was born August 25, 1938 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Carolina (Contreras) and Lasaro Casas. She was a lifelong resident of Taft, Texas. Carmen was a retired LVN. She was employed at Taft Hospital for 30 years.

Carmen will be dearly missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and everyone who knew her.

Carmen is preceded in death by her parents: Lasaro Casas; Jesus and Julia C. Luna; and her granddaughter: Erica Monique Lucio.

Survivors include her husband: Jose M. Hinojosa of Taft, Texas; sons: Joe Hinojosa (Jesusa) and David Hinojosa, all of Taft, Texas; Timothy Hinojosa (Georgia) of Valley View, Texas; daughters: Cynthia Hinojosa of Corpus Christi, Texas and Julie Hinojosa of Taft, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin Monday, February 19, 2018, 5:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. A prayer service will be held the same evening, 7:00 PM, at the funeral home. The funeral service will be Tuesday, February 20, 2018, 11:00 AM at Primera Iglesia Bautista in Taft, Texas. Private burial will follow at a later date.
