St. Paul – Charles Martinka passed away May 4, 2017 with his loving family by his side. He was 62.

Charlie was born April 26, 1955 in Sinton, Texas to Paul and Louise (Benys) Martinka. He was a lifelong resident of the St. Paul/Sinton area. Charlie was a well-known self-employed Farmer who operated Martinka Farms.

Charlie is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Louise Martinka.

Survivors include his wife: Shannon Martinka of St. Paul, Texas; a son: Joe Ed Fritcher of Corpus Christi, Texas; a daughter: Avis Powell (Greg) of George West, Texas; two sisters: Gladys Mitchell (Eric) of Victoria, Texas and Charlotte O’Rourke (Dan) of Cerritos, CA; and 3 grandchildren: Hunter Powell, Hayden Powell and Alison Fritcher.

Visitation will be held Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. The family will receive guests from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, May 8, 2017, 1:00 PM at Sacred Heart Church in Sinton, Texas with Father Pete Stanley as celebrant. Burial will follow in Sinton Cemetery, Sinton.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Reider, Hunter Powell, Hayden Powell, Dee DeBose, Felix Fojtik and Alan Stimpson.
