Aransas Pass- Crescenciano “Chris” Mendoza passed away April 9, 2017. He was 75.

Chris was born in Aransas Pass, Texas on May 5, 1941 to Lorenzo and Luisa (Cortez) Mendoza. He was a lifelong resident of Aransas Pass, Texas. Chris retired from HEB after working for 25 years as a produce manager. He was also employed with IGA for 15 years and worked as a shrimper in his younger years.

Chris is preceded in death by his spouse: Felipa Rios Mendoza; sons: Pedro Villarreal and Chris Mendoza Jr.; daughter: San Juanita Mendoza; sisters: Modesta Mireles and Gloria Elliott; and grandson: Robert Blake Resendez.

Survivors include his son: David Villarreal Sr. (Sylvia) of Corpus Christi, Texas; daughter: Janie Mendoza Resendez (Robert) of Portland, Texas; 16 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and brother: Tim Mendoza (Aida) of Aransas Pass, Texas.

Visitation will begin Wednesday, April 12, 2017, 5:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Aransas Pass. A rosary will follow the same evening, 7:00 PM, at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
