Odem – David Garcia passed away peacefully on December 4, 2017. He was 83.

David was born in La Vernia, Texas on June 3, 1934. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. David was a retired truck driver and life- long resident of Odem, Texas where he made his home with his loving wife, Rita.

David is preceded in death by his parents; great-grandchild: Stevie Jay Garcia; and a sister: Alexis Carrion.

Survivors include his wife: Rita Garcia of Odem, Texas; son: David Garcia (Melissa) of Odem, Texas; daughters: Diana Garcia of Houston, Texas; Dolores Tovar (Joel) and Dalia Garcia (Tommy Moore) both of Odem, Texas; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and brother: Juan Herrera (Mirella) of Hereford, Texas

Visitation will begin Thursday, December 7, 2017, 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. A holy rosary will be recited the same evening, 7:00 PM, at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, December 8, 2017, 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, Odem, Texas with Father Isaias Estepa as celebrant. Burial will follow in San Pedro Cemetery, Odem.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Moore, Joel Tovar, Jacob Garcia, Thomas Garcia, John Herrera and Austin Moore.
