Sinton – Dominga C. Ortiz passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side. She was 85.
Dominga was born in Bloomington, Texas on February 4, 1934 to Bernardo and Otilia (Lowa) Cordova. She was a resident of Sinton, Texas for most of her life. She was a loving mother and homemaker. Dominga would often clean houses but was known for the store she owned and operated for several years in Sinton known as the Downtown Thrift Store. You could find her and her husband, Alvaro, Sr., there and they would greet you with a smile as you walked in the front door. She treated everyone like family. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Preceding in death is her husband: Alvaro Ortiz, Sr.; daughter: Maria Graciela Ortiz; grandson: Carlos Joseph Flores; and her parents: Bernardo and Otilia Cordova.
Survivors include son: Alvaro Ortiz (Nancy) of Mesquite, Texas; daughters: Gracie Cantu (Carlos) of Sinton, Texas; Norma Mireles (Mario) of Skidmore, Texas; Jo Ann Ortiz of Round Rock, Texas; 10 grandchildren: 7 great-grandchildren; brothers: Rosendo Molina (Mary) of Gregory, Texas and Richard Molina (Adela) of Sinton, Texas; sister: Diane Quilimaco (Fernando) of Sinton, Texas.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 10, 2019, 1:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. A rosary will be held the same evening, 7:00 PM, at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, September 11, 2019, 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Sinton. Burial will follow in Eternal Rest Cemetery, Sinton with Father Glen Mullan as celebrant. Pallbearers will be Tony Lee Ortiz; Steven Karl Ortiz; Austin Ortiz; Joseph Roland Flores; John Joseph Flores and Carlos Aaron Cantu.
