Dona Farrar

Aransas Pass- Dona Marie Farrar (McCartney) passed away peacefully April 23, 2018. She was 57.

Dona was born January 10, 1961 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Dorothy (Carroll) and Charles Edgar McCartney. She was a resident of Aransas Pass, Texas and former resident of Pasadena, Texas for 33 years.

In 1988 Dona became a licensed Cosmetologist at the Vogue College of Cosmetology. Dona was a board member with the concerned citizens of scouting for Troop 25. She also served as the Director and President of the Sandra Sue Benson Animal Adoption Center of Aransas Pass, Texas. The adoption center was her passion and she loved all animals dearly, and most of all helping others in need. Dona was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

Preceding in death is her father: Charles L. McCartney.

Survivors include her husband of 42 years: Steven Farrar of Aransas Pass, Texas; sons: Steven P. Farrar Jr.; Michael Farrar and Johnny Farrar all of Aransas Pass, Texas; 5 grandchildren: Shawn Farrar, Christina Farrar, Josh Farrar, Austin Farrar and Kason Farrar; mother: Dorothy McCartney; sister: Laurie Hajdik of Goliad, Texas; brothers: Danny Jackson of Aransas Pass, Texas and Charlie E. McCartney of Rockdale, Texas.

Visitation was held Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. The family received guests from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday April 28th, 11:00 AM at Central Baptist Church, Ingleside, Texas.
