Rockport – Elva Elizabeth Chapman passed away peacefully April 4, 2018 in Portland, Texas with her loving husband at her side. Elva was 88 years old.

Elva was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on October 10, 1929 to Ruby Bell (Hudson) and Luther Monroe Jones. Elva was employed by Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Corpus Christi and Spohn Hospital in her younger years. She married Donald Michael Chapman, a sailor in the US Navy. Elva was a resident of Rockport the last 20 years and former resident of Imperial Beach, California. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.

Elva is preceded in death by her sons: Richard Wayne Chapman, Gary Allen Chapman and Donald Michael Chapman, Jr.; and a grandson: Randall J. Chapman.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years: Don Chapman of Rockport, Texas; a daughter: Linda Alline Collins (Roger) of Rockport, Texas; 2 grandchildren: Shawn Reiser and David Collins; 3 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and daughter-in-law: Kim Chapman of Huntington Beach, CA.
