Ingleside – Ernesto A. Villegas passed away May 16, 2018. He was 63.

Ernesto was born in Taft, Texas on April 6, 1955 to Socorro and Susana (Alvarado) Villegas. Ernesto was an insulator employed with Turner Industries Group in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was a resident of Ingleside, Texas for most of his life.

Ernesto is preceded in death by his parents: Susana and Socorro Villegas, Sr.; a brother: Nieves Villegas; sister: Rose Ann Villegas; grandmothers: Maria Villegas and Cleofas Alvarado; and uncle: Martin Alvarado.

Survivors include his wife: Gloria Pena Villegas of Ingleside, Texas; sons: David A. Pena (Lisa) and Juan M. Pena, all of Ingleside, Texas: daughters: Viviana Anna Pena Uvalle (Larry) of Corpus Christi, Texas; Maria Angelita Fort (Michael) of Beeville, Texas; Daisy Mae Pena Villegas of Ingleside, Texas; 20 grandchildren: 16 great-grandchildren; brothers: Vicente Villegas of Taft, Texas; Francisco Villegas of Corpus Christi, Texas; Socorro Villegas, Jr. of Taft, Texas; sisters: Virginia Villegas of Taft, Texas; Catarina Cisneros of New Mexico; Maria Villegas of Corpus Christi, Texas; Sylvia Villegas of Taft, Texas;  Linda Diaz (Guadalupe) of Taft, Texas; and Petra Hernandez (Samuel) of Ingleside, Texas.

Visitation will begin Thursday, May 24, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Our Lady of Assumption Church in Ingleside. A holy rosary will be held the same evening, 7:00 PM, at the church. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, May 25, 2018 at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Ingleside with Father Pete Stanley as celebrant. Burial will follow in San Ignacio Cemetery, Ingleside.
