Gavin Dean McFarland

Sinton – Gavin Dean McFarland passed away June 23, 2019. He was 16.

Gavin was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on September 6, 2002 to John Gabriel “Gabe” and Christine Dawn (Kidd) McFarland.

Gavin lived most of his life in Sinton, Texas and was a student at Sinton High School. He was well-known and well-liked by his classmates, his teachers, his coaches and an entire community. Gavin was active in many school activities. He was a Junior at Sinton High and was scheduled to start Industrial Instrumentation Courses at Del Mar College. Gavin was a member of the Sinton Pirate track and football programs. He was a team leader, raised pigs and was active in 4-H and FFA.  Gavin was a loving and caring son, brother, grandson and friend who will be missed by everyone who knew him.  

Survivors include his parents: Christine McFarland; Gabe McFarland (Emilee), all  of Sinton, Texas; sister: Aubrey Faye McFarland of Sinton, Texas; maternal grandparents: Susan and Weldon Bice of San Antonio, Texas; Audrey and James Kidd of Gautier, Mississippi; and Jackie Knandel of Portland, Texas; paternal grandparents: Don and Kathy McFarland and Eileen Troup of Sinton, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 27, 2019, 10:00 AM at the Terry A. Simpson Civic Center (formerly San Patricio County Fairgrounds) in Sinton. Burial will follow in Sinton Cemetery, Sinton.
