Gordon Dale Janssen

Rockport - Gordon Dale Janssen passed away peacefully July 22, 2018 with his loving family at his side. He was 70.

Gordon was born September 18, 1947 in Flint, Michigan to Lillian (Head) and Lester C. Janssen. He was a resident of Rockport, Texas and former resident of Irving, Texas. Gordon served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam era. He was a fan of Asian Art. Gordon retired from GTE telephone company where he was employed 15 years. He was currently a fishing guide in Rockport where he established lasting friendships with the people he met on his tours. Gordon was a beloved husband, father and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Gordon is preceded in death by his parents: Lester and Lillian Janssen; and his mother-in-law: Barcy Kring McCain.

Surivivors include his wife of 38 years: Beth Janssen of Rockport, Texas; a son: Christopher Janssen and wife Amy of Rockport, Texas; a brother: Doug Janssen of Irving, Texas; and a sister: Sharon Hignight of Bedford, Texas.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, August 3, 2018, 2:00 PM at the Drifter’s Resort in Rockport, Texas.
