St. Paul – Guadalupe Chapa passed away peacefully on January 5, 2020. She was 97.
Guadalupe was born in Mathis, Texas on December 24, 1922 to Ponciano and Elijia (Bordallo) Deleon. She spent most of her life in St. Paul, Texas and was a former resident of Tipton, Oklahoma. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Preceding in death is her husband: Hilario Chapa; son: Alcario Chapa; parents: Ponciano and Elijia Deleon; 8 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her sons: Larry Chapa (Gracie) of Sinton, Texas; Johnny Chapa (Lupe) of St. Paul, Texas and Jesse Chapa of St. Paul, Texas; daughters: Diana Ruiz (Carlos) of Buchanan Dam, Texas; Dalia Lopez (Robert) of Waco, Texas and Delia Welch (David) of Cedar Park, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin Friday, January 10, 2020, 2:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. A holy rosary will be held the same evening, 7:00 PM, at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, January 11, 2020, 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, Sinton with Father Yul Ibay as celebrant.
