Isabel Sosa

Portland – Isabel Sosa passed away peacefully May 21, 2018 with her loving family at her side. She was 75.

Isabel was born January 25, 1943 in Mexico City to Maria delCarmen Calva de Sosa and Carlos Sosa. She was resident of Portland, Texas more than 2 years and former resident of Corpus Christi, Mexico and California. Isabel was a talented author. Her writings, knowledge and words of inspiration were near publishing at the time of her passing. Isabel’s family will continue to share their Mother’s words of wisdom and teachings by furthering the publication of her writings. Isabel was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Isabel is preceded in death by a son: Julio Ivan Sosa; her parents: Carlos Sosa and Maria delCarmen Calva de Sosa; brothers: Jorge Sosa Calva, Felipe Sosa Calva and Jose Sosa Calva.

Survivors include daughters: Diane Lorena Sosa and Belinda Osuna Sosa, both from Portland, Texas; grandchildren: Brandon Ivan Lezama Orozco from California and Mateo Abelardo Rivera Osuna from Portland, Texas; step-granddaughter: Laura Vasquez Orozco from California; brother: Carlos Sosa Calva (Olivia) from Mexico; sisters: Carmina Sosa Calva from Houston, Texas; Victoria Sosa Calva from Mexico; and Yolanda Sosa Calva from Harlingen, Texas.

A Memorial Mass will be held Monday, May 28, 2018, 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Portland, Texas.

Private burial services will be held in Mexico.
