Sinton – Jack Montgomery passed away peacefully on June 14, 2019. He was 91.
Jack was born in Sinton, Texas on July 2, 1927 to Alexander Hamilton and Clyde (Wood) Montgomery. He was a World War II veteran who served his country in the United States Army. Jack was a lifelong resident of Sinton, Texas. He was an educator more than 25 years who taught many a trade to aspiring students. Jack had a knack for restoring clocks and radios. He was an active member of the Odem Church of Christ when he lived in Sinton. Jack was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, farmer and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Jack is preceded in death by his wife: Ruth Montgomery; parents: Alexander and Clyde Montgomery; and siblings: Evy Mayfield; Leo Montgomery; William Montgomery; Paralee Mayfield; Chester Montgomery; Douglas Montgomery and Beatrice Power.
Survivors include his sons: Randy Montgomery of Sherman, Texas and Rick Montgomery of North Dakota; daughter: Paula Austin (Kenneth) of Lewisville, Texas; grandchildren: Wynnfield Montgomery (Ashley); Elliott Montgomery (Sean) and Campbell Montgomery; great-grandchildren: Odin Elwood Montgomery and Lincoln Hardin Montgomery.
Family will receive guests on Friday, June 21, 2019, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. A chapel service will be held Saturday, June 22, 2019, 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Sinton Cemetery, Sinton.
Pallbearers will be Randy Montgomery, Rick Montgomery, Kenneth Austin,, Campbell Montgomery, Sean Viveros and Ray Rackley. Honorary Pallbearer will be Kenneth Bosworth.
