James Marion Barnes

James Marion Barnes, a resident of Gregory, TX, passed away unexpectedly on December 30, 2019 at the age of 25. James was born August 6, 1994 in Aransas Pass, TX. James was a very good handyman and had many wonderful traits. If you needed something, he had you. His best times were spent in the shop with his grandpa before he passed in 2006. This is where he learned all about mechanics. James pursued a career as a tower tech, climbing cell towers hundreds of feet in the air. His love for adventure, travel and adrenalin along with his favorite childhood memories made this the perfect career choice. James had a strong work ethic, and he always put his family first. James’ loving, free spirited soul made him a devoted son, brother and friend. During his time off, his favorite thing to do was hang with friends and family, while eating all the tacos he could handle and then some! James was loved and cared for by anyone who came in contact with him, leaving his mark on many, many hearts. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

James was preceded in death by his grandfather, Marshall Marion Barnes (RED). He leaves behind his Grandmother: Lynda (Charles) Williams, Mother: Katherine (Michael) Grier; Sister: Leanna Grimes; Brother: Shane Carraway and Michael Grier jr. ;Uncle: Marshall (Vicki) Barnes, Aunts: Melissa (Joel) Esquivel and Stacy  (Bob) Stephenson, Niece: Zoey Huffman, Nephew: Tristan Grier and many cousins: Gary Barnes, Madison Barnes, Kelly Barnes, Joshua Waller, Raina, Stephenson, Aubrey Stephenson and Dakota Stephenson.

Graveside Services for James will be held at Prairie View Cemetery in Aransas Pass on Friday, January 3rd, 2020 at 2:00pm. Following the service there will be a Potluck dinner gathering of family and friends, with location to be announced.
