Janie Mata

Sinton – Janie Mata passed away August 25, 2019. She was 69.

Janie was born in Sinton, Texas on May 23, 1950 to Pedro R. and Maria (Rodriguez) Mata. She was a lifelong resident of Sinton. Janie was formerly employed as a substitute teacher for Sinton ISD and home health provider.

Preceding in death are her parents, brothers, a niece and nephew.

Survivors include her son: Augie Aguirre (Amy) of Portland, Texas; daughters: Brenda Reyna (Andrew) of Cleburne, Texas and Crystal Aguero (Arturo) of Sinton Texas; grandchildren: Brianna Boza; Austin Aguirre; Rhyen Perez; Reanna Aguirre; Eriyana Najera and Amiyah Najera; great-grandchildren: Reyna Boza and Rey Boza; brothers: Frank Mata (Lupe) of Sinton, Texas; Rene Mata (Sylvia) of Sinton, Texas and Henry Mata (Fanny) of Aransas Pass, Texas; sister: Anita Aguilar (Cruz) of Sinton, Texas.

Visitation will begin Thursday, August 29, 2019, 4:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. A rosary will be held Thursday, August 29, 2019, 7:00 PM at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, August 30, 2019, 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Sinton with Father Isaias Estepa as celebrant. Burial will follow in Eternal Rest Cemetery, Sinton.
