Taft – Jorge Luis Hernandez, Sr. passed away April 5, 2017. He was 57.

Jorge was born in Matamoros, Mexico on February 25, 1960 to Felipe and Aurora (Tobias) Hernandez. He was a resident of Taft, Texas for most of his life. Jorge was a employed as a General Foreman in the piping industry more than 40 years.

Jorge is preceded in death by his father: Felipe Hernandez; grandson: Luis Aurelius Hernandez; and uncle: Juan Hernandez.

Survivors include his wife: Graciela Hernandez of Taft, Texas; sons: Jorge Luis Hernandez, Jr. (Melba) of Hawaii; Aldo Hernandez (Jessica) of San Benito, Texas; George Matthew Sauceda Hernandez of Taft, Texas; daughters: Janet H. Gonzales (Joseph) of Ingleside, Texas; Vanessa Hernandez (Benjamin) of Taft, Texas; Jenessa Marie Hernandez of Corpus Christi, Texas; Mary Grace Sauceda (Andrew) of Portland, Texas; Georgia Lee Hernandez of Taft, Texas; Elizabeth Nicole Hernandez (Bryan Lopez, Sr.) of Corpus Christi, Texas; 18 grandchildren; mother: Aurora Hernandez of Aransas Pass, Texas; brother: Felipe Hernandez of Lubbock, Texas; sisters: Janie Hernandez of Lubbock, Texas; Rosa Elena Hernandez of Taft, Texas; Margie Longoria of Taft, Texas; and Elsa Montez of Taft, Texas.

Visitation will begin Monday, April 10, 2017, 3:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. A rosary will follow the same evening, 7:00 PM, at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, April 11, 2017, 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, Taft. Burial will follow in Taft Memorial Park Cemetery, Taft.
