Joyce Alene Bauman

Joyce Alene Bauman passed away November 23, 2019. She was 86.

Joyce was born July 23, 1933 to Gladies Fern McNamar and Willie Russell Knioum. She married Bartley C. Bauman, Jr. They were married 49 years and 7 months.

Joyce became a child of Christ at the age of 11. She was baptized on Easter Sunday 1944. Joyce was a resident of Papalote. She had formerly worked in real estate and insurance after high school graduation in 1950. Joyce worked at Citizens Standard Insurance Company for 21 years where she was promoted to manager and Second Vice President. Joyce resigned when Bartley became ill. She then worked as a bookkeeper for Anderson Machinery, then as a secretary in the marketing department for First Citizens Bank until it was dissolved and became Frost Bank. Upon leaving Frost Bank, Joyce worked for Pacific National Bank as a Marketing Assistant. She worked with her husband of almost 50 years at their Papalote home, helping build their house, planting grass, building fences, hauling hay and working cattle. Joyce was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a volunteer for 10 years at Christus Spohn Hospital in Beeville.

Preceding in death by her husband, Bartley.

Survivors include her daughter Patricia and her husband Kenneth Wallek; one granddaughter Cheryl Wallek; one grandson: Dustin Wallek and his wife Danielle; one great-grandchild: Abigail (the daughter of Dustin and Danielle).

Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 27, 2019, 9:00 AM at First Baptist Church in Sinton. The Funeral Service will follow, 10:00 AM at the church.

The Graveside Service will be held the same afternoon, 12:30 PM at Memory Gardens Funeral Home and Cemetery in Corpus Christi.
