St. Paul – Juan C. Soliz, Jr. passed May 20, 2017 at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was 78.

Juan was born in Nordheim, Texas on September 2, 1938 to Juan Sr. and Saturnina (Castro) Soliz.

Juan was a resident of St. Paul almost 40 years. He was a retired truck driver employed by Tri Mac Services. Juan loved his family, fishing and singing. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.

Juan is preceded in death by his parents: Juan and Saturnina Soliz; brothers: Ignacio, Jesus, Vicente and Manuel Soliz; and sisters: Julia Muniz, Guadalupe Ansaldua and Dominga Soliz.

Survivors include his wife of almost 40 years: Santos Ramirez Soliz of St. Paul, Texas; 6 daughters: Felisa Urrea (Jesse) of Sandia, Texas; Benita Silvas (Raul) of Sinton, Texas; Ernestina Flores (Victor) of Missouri City, Texas; Sylvia Guerrero (Gregorio) of Houston, Texas; Jessica Robledo (Abel) of Hernando, Mississippi; and Janie Marquez (Chris) of Euless, Texas; 7 step-children: Rosa (Moody) DeLeon of St. Paul, Texas; Alicia Camp (Brent) of Portland, Texas; Rey Gonzales (Dalia) of Temple, Texas; Oscar Gonzales (Debbie) of Corpus Christi, Texas; Patsy Gorski (Kenny) of Portland, Texas; Sam Gonzales (Christina) of St. Paul, Texas; David Gonzales (Irma) of Mathis, Texas; brothers: Alfredo Soliz and Eustacio Soliz, both of Edinburg, Texas; 18 grandchildren; 19 greatgrandchildren; 19 step-grandchildren and 17 step-great grandchildren.

Visitation will begin Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 12:00 noon. A prayer service will be held the same evening, 6:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Roman Encinia officiating. The funeral service will be held Thursday, May 25, 2017, 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in John J. Welder Memorial Cemetery, St. Paul.
