Juan Manuel “J.B.” Barrera passed away November 4, 2017. He was 21. J.B. was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on November 13, 1995 to Robert Jr. and Melinda (Tijerina) Barrera. He was a lifelong resident of Odem, Texas and worked at Agave Jalisco Restaurant as a waiter for three years.

Survivors include his mother: Melinda Tijerina (Ben Lopez) of Odem, Texas; father: Robert Barrera, Jr. of Robstown, Texas; son: Jeramyiah Bryce Houston of Robstown, Texas; stepson: Zayden Luna of Robstown, Texas; fiancé: Kimberly Luna of Robstown, Texas; brother: Robert Barrera of Alice, Texas; sister: Marina Barrera of Beeville, Texas; maternal grandparents: Joe and Hilda Tijerina of Robstown, Texas; paternal grandparents: Robert and Ester Barrera of Robstown, Texas; aunts and uncles: Isabelle Kemp (Roland DeAlejandro, Jr.) of Odem, Texas; Anthony Tijerina of Robstown, Texas; San Juana Gonzales (Thomas) of Robstown, Texas; Roxanne Ybarra (Marcos) of Corpus Christi, Texas; godparents: Paula Martinez (Jerry) of Robstown, Texas; and mother of his son Jeramyiah: Tamia Houston of Robstown, Texas.

Visitation will begin Friday, November 10, 2017, 2:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. A rosary will be held the same evening, 7:00 PM, at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, November 11, 2017, 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, Odem with Father Isaias Estepa as Celebrant. Burial will follow in San Pedro Cemetery, Odem.
