Lily G. Ortiz

Taft – Lily G. Ortiz passed away peacefully on July 9, 2019. She was 82.

Lily was born in Karnes City, Texas on April 30, 1937 to Aurelio and Paula (Alvarez) Gomez.

Lily was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Taft, Texas. She wil be missed by all who knew her.

Preceding in death is her husband: Dionicio Ortiz; daughter: Dominga Vasquez; granddaughters: Savannah Gonzalez; Bridgette Aguero; Brittney Aguero and Brianna Aguero; brothers: Domingo Gomez and Luis Gomez; sisters: Ignacia Gomez; Aurora Gomez and Micaela Aguirre.

Survivors include sons: Dionicio Ortiz, III (Irma) of San Antonio, Texas and Jerry Lee Ortiz, Sr. (Denise) of Corpus Christi, Texas; daughters: Janie Flores (Frank) of Taft, Texas; Sandra Ortiz of Taft, Texas; Diana Ortiz (Beck) of Portland, Texas; Yvonne Gonzalez of Courtland, Kansas and Delia Rodriguez (Hector); 27 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; sister: Hortensia Hernandez of Taft, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephew.

Visitation will begin Sunday, July 14, 2019, 2:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. A rosary will be held the same evening, 7:00 PM, at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, July 15, 2019, 2:00 PM at Immaculate Conception Church, Taft. Burial will follow in Lamas Memorial Park Cemetery, Taft.
