Sinton – Maria “La Bandida” Jasso Reyes passed away peacefully at home with her loving family at her side on December 31, 2019. She was 77.
Maria was born on January 1, 1942 in Mathis, Texas to Petra Flores Laurel and Aurelio Jasso. She was a resident of Sinton more than 35 years and lived previously in Mathis, Robstown, Corpus Christi and Olton. Maria was a homemaker. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
Preceding in death are sons Mauricio Siaz and Pablo Canteras, III.
Survivors include her husband: Jesus Riojas of Sinton, Texas; 4 sons: Sammy Velasquez, Jose Velasquez and Tony Velasquez, all of Corpus Christi, Texas; Benito Sias; 5 daughters: Sylvia Torres, Rosalinda Siaz and Elena Velasquez, all of Corpus Christi, Texas; Johann Lara of Sinton, Texas and Anita Rodriguez of Mexico; numerous grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: Gaudencio Laurel, Jr. of Robstown, Texas and Rafael Laurel of Edroy, Texas; 3 sisters: Armandina Olguin of Zapata, Texas, Amelia Rodriguez and Minta Morales, both of Corpus Christi, Texas.
