Refugio – Mario Rocha passed away November 19, 2017 with his family at his side. He was 58.

Mario was born in Refugio, Texas on July 18, 1959 to Romana Rocha and Cipriano Z. Herrera. He was a lifelong resident of Refugio and attended Refugio schools. Mario was formerly employed by the City of Refugio.

Mario is preceded in death by his father: Cipriano Z. Herrera; brothers: Jose Herrera, Jessie Herrera, Robert Guerra, Benito Guerra; and sister: Lucia Garza.

Survivors include his wife: Martina Castillo of Refugio, Texas; sons: Mario Herrera, Jr. (Monique); Samuel Herrera (Angela); Clarence Grant (Ramona); Jeremiah Guerra, all of Refugio, Texas; daughter: Samantha Wiemken (Kent) of Refugio, Texas; brothers: Leonardo Guerra (Diane) of Refugio, Texas; Santiago Guerra of San Diego, Texas; sisters: Maggie Garza (Rene) and Amelia Andrade (Alex), all of Refugio, Texas; Lucinda Polk (Tom) of Aransas Pass, Texas; Gloria Vecera (Armando) of Mesquite, Texas; 7 grandchildren; and his mother: Ramona Guerra of Refugio, Texas.

A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, November 25, 2017, 9:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church in Refugio, Texas. A private burial will be held at a later date.
