Taft – Mary Acosta Quilimaco passed away peacefully February 19, 2019 with her family at her side. She was 74.
Mary was born on March 9, 1944 to Inez (Soliz) and Domingo Acosta. She was a lifelong resident of Taft. Mary was a homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Mary will be missed by all who knew her.
Preceding in death are a son: Jimmy Quilimaco; parents: Domingo and Inez Acosta; brothers: Crispin Acosta, Juan Acosta, Fernando Acosta; sisters: Janie Cortez, Julia Nunez and Beatrice Serda.
Survivors include her husband: Jose N. Quilimaco; a son: Joe Quilimaco; daughters: Linda Montez (Steve), Marie Encinia (Frank), Joanne Maldonado (Sam) and Jenelle Castillo (Cipi), all of Taft, Texas; Judy Benavides (Marco) and Jessica Amador (Joe), all of Corpus Christi, Texas; 17 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; brothers: Jose Acosta of Taft, Texas and Pete Acosta (Hortencia) of Corpus Christi, Texas; sisters: Eluteria Ortiz of Portland,Texas, Norma Morin of Plano, Texas and Jesusa Acosta of Portland, Texas; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Visitation will begin Thursday, February 21, 2019, 2:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel in Sinton. A Holy Rosary will be recited the same evening, 7:00 PM at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, February 22, 2019, 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, Taft with Father Pete Stanley as celebrant. Burial will follow in Taft Memorial Park Cemetery, Taft.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Encinia, Jonathan Moreno, Ryan Hernandez, Jayden Benavides, Jeremiah Maldonado, Joe Amador, Jr., Joel Encinia and Sam Maldonado, Jr.
