Sinton – Mercedes L. Balderaz Perez passed away April 3, 2017. She was 57.

Mercedes was born in Sinton, Texas on August 21, 1959 to Antonio and Ofelia (Longoria) Balderaz. She was a lifelong resident of Sinton, Texas where she was a loving wife and mother to her husband and children.

Mercedes is preceded in death by her son: Leonel Castillo; father: Antonio Balderaz; brother: Alonzo Balderaz; and sister: Delia DeLeon.

Survivors include her loving husband: Benito Perez of Sinton, Texas; mother; Ofelia L. Balderaz of Sinton, Texas; son: Steve Castillo of Pasadena, Texas; daughter: Yvonne Gatica (George) of Corpus Christi, Texas; brothers: Paul Balderaz, Mateo Balderaz and Oscar Balderaz, all of Alvin, Texas, Roy Balderaz, Eddie Balderaz of Sinton, Texas and Tony Balderaz of Havelock, NC; sisters: Janie Galvez of Sinton, Texas and Emma Martinez of Austin, Texas.

Visitation will begin Wednesday, April 5, 2017, 12:00 PM, at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. A prayer service will follow, 7:00 PM, at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 6, 2017, 10:00 AM, at Templo Bethel, Sinton, with Rev. Ruth Ymbert officiating. Burial will follow in Eternal Rest Cemetery, Sinton.    
Pallbearers will be Malcolm Stewart, Stephen Salone, Kenny Salone, PJ Salone, Rudy Martinez and Wally Deleon.
