Rockport – Michael Patrick Lassiter, 32, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at his temporary residence in New Braunfels, Texas.  Michael was a lifelong resident of Rockport, Texas and worked as a CNA at a nursing home in New Braunfels due to Hurricane Harvey in August 2017 damaging the nursing home where he worked in Rockport.

Michael was born on April 28, 1985 in Aransas Pass, Texas and was the youngest son of John Wallace Lassiter, Sr. and Teresa Marie (Fries) Lassiter.  Michael graduated with honors from Rockport-Fulton High School in 2003. 

Mikey was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend.  He will be remembered for his sharp wit and his ability to always put a smile on everyone’s face.  He cared for everyone he knew and he loved animals.  He enjoyed his extensive gaming collections.  

Michael is predeceased by his mother:  Teresa Marie Lassiter and his grandparents:  Beatrice and Walter Wallace Lassiter. 

Survivors include his father:  John Wallace Lassiter, Sr. of Rockport, Texas; sister:  Kimberly Ramos (Sam) of Fulton, Texas; brother:  John Wallace Lassiter, Jr. (Deborah) of Corpus Christi, Texas; 5 nephews:  John Paul Oliva, Daniel Joseph Ramos, Jeremy Domingo Ramos, Jakob Kyle Lassiter and John Wallace Lassiter, III and one niece:  Jolie Ann Lassiter.  Michael also leaves behind numerous friends. 

Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at 10:00 AM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel located at 606 S. San Patricio in Sinton, Texas.  A rosary will be recited the same day, 1:00 PM, with a chapel service at 2:00 PM, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Rockport Cemetery, Rockport, Texas.

Pallbearers will include:  John Lassiter, Jr., John Paul Oliva, Sammy Ramos, Richard Geary, Cody Taylor, Matthew Lassiter, Steven Dykes, Jakob Lassiter, Daniel Ramos, Jimmy Anders, Sr., Jimmy Anders, Jr. and Martin Garcia, III.
