Raul "Catan" Enrique Rios

Sinton – Raul Enrique “Catan” Rios passed away peacefully on May 29, 2019. He was 65.

Catan was born June 27, 1953 in Idalou, Texas to Raul and Maria Angelita (Cervantes) Rios. He was a resident of Sinton, Texas. Catan had previously lived in Houston and Raymondville. He was a former employee of Houston ISD. Catan was an avid Houston Astros fan who loved his family, his Astros and lived life to the fullest. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. Catan will be missed by all who knew him.

Preceding in death are his parents: Raul and Angelica Rios; grandparents: Domingo and Maria Cervantes; and a brother: Johnny Garcia.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years: Linda Rios of Sinton, Texas; sons: Raul Enrique Rios, Jr. of Houston, Texas and Andres Domingo Rios (Regina) of Deer Park, Texas; daughters: June Elizabeth Cruz (Carlos) of Gainsville, Texas and Lori Hortencia Rodriguez (Oscar); 3 grandchildren: Adrian Enrique Rios (Jacey Renee Ruby), Gabriel Rios and Carter Ray Rios; 4 great-grandchildren: Adrian Jace Rios, Adryanna Rios Watt, Mercedes Lori Ava Rios and Angelica Susana Rios; 22 siblings; step-father: Ramiro “Grandpa” Suarez of Rivera, Texas; and mother-in-law: Elvira Eilers of San Antonio, Texas.

Visitation will begin Saturday, June 8, 2019, 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home, Sinton. A Holy Rosary will be recited the same evening, 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Visitation will continue Sunday, June 9, 2019, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. A Christian Rites service will be held Sunday.
