Taft – Ricardo Gonzalez passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on March 25, 2017 with his loving family by his side. He was 62.

Richard was born in Taft, Texas on August 17, 1954 to Severiano and Ofelia (Martinez) Gonzalez. He was a lifelong resident of Taft, Texas and was self-employed in construction more than 40 years. Richard served his country in the US Army.

Richard is preceded in death by his father: Severiano Gonzalez.

Survivors include his wife: Isabel Gonzalez of Taft, Texas; sons: Rolando Suarez and Jacob Richard Gonzalez, both of Taft, Texas; daughters: Veronica Gonzalez (Roy Vasquez) of San Antonio, Texas; Andrea Gonzalez (Jared Lindey) of Cromwell, CT; Sara Gonzalez of Corpus Christi, Texas; Amanda Wilkinson (Ernesto Riojas) of San Antonio, Texas; mother: Ofelia Martinez Gonzales of Taft, Texas; brother: Hector Cesar Gonzalez (Sylvia) of Corpus Christi, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins in the valley and Mexico.

Visitation will begin Wednesday, March 29, 2017, 4:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. A chapel service will be held the same evening, 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be held Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ben Martinez, Rey Moreno, Jacob Gonzalez, David Ramos, Ruben Tamez and Ruben Masquifelt.
