Robert Candela

Odem – Robert Candela passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side on March 14, 2019. He was born in Runge, Texas on August 23, 1937 to Antonio and Juanita (Ortiz) Candela. He was a resident of Odem, Texas for most of his life and a former insulator for Brown & Root.

Preceding in death is a daughter: Baby Candela; parents: Antonio and Juanita Candela; brother: Antonio Candela, Jr.; and sister: Paula Tesina.

Survivors include his wife: Alicia “Licha” Candela of Odem, Texas; son: Robert “Bobby” Candela (Candy) of Odem, Texas; daughter: Elizabeth Zuniga of Corpus Christi, Texas; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters: Viviana Robles of Denver City, Texas; Juanita Garza (Florentino) of Odem, Texas; Ofelia Zuniga (Tito) of Odem, Texas; Oralia “Jolly” Reyna (Gonzalo) of Sinton, Texas and Olivia Leal (Robert) of Plainview, Texas; sisters-in-law: Virginia Candela and Teresa Ortiz, both of Odem, Texas. 

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 19, 2019, 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. A rosary will be held the same evening, 7:00 PM, at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, March 20, 2019, 1:00 PM at Sacred Heart Church, Odem, Texas, with Father Isaias Estepa as celebrant. Burial will follow in San Pedro Cemetery, Odem.
