Roy Edward Corkill

Odem - Roy Edward Corkill stepped victoriously into Heaven on September 7th, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was 90.

Roy was born at home, on August 21, 1928 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Roy Edward Corkill and Mary Willis Corkill. He graduated from Corpus Christi High School. Roy was married to Leona Womack Corkill for 69 years. He worked in Sales throughout his entire career, retiring in 1993. In 2007 they moved to Odem Texas where Roy and Leona enjoyed serving in many church and civic functions and enjoying family.

Roy is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Betty Tanner (husband Cleland) and his son-In-law Joe Fleck.

He is survived by his wife Leona; daughter Linda Fleck, both of Odem Texas, son Gary (Diana) of Corinth, Texas and daughter Laurie Phanco (Mark) of Frisco, Texas;  his 13 grandchildren: Marce Bluntzer (Paul), Joe B Fleck (Kim); Alexandria Corkill, Daniel Corkill, Kurt King, Trevor King, Katrina King, Melissa Phanco, Mallory Phanco (Coby), Andrew Lawrence; his 10 Great grandchildren: McKenna, Zane, Braxton, Braydon, Kiersten, Konner, William, Lily, Olivia and Lucy.  

Services are being held at First Baptist Church, Odem Texas on Tuesday September 11, 2018 at 10:00 AM followed by a graveside service at Evergreen Cemetery in Odem.

In Lieu of Flowers, (due to family allergies) the family requests donations be made to Church or Charity of your choice in Honor of Roy Corkill.
