Taft – Trinidad “Trino” Cortez passed away June 6, 2017. He was 73. Trino was born in Taft, Texas on June 10, 1943 to Trinidad and Lucia (Garcia) Cortez.

Trino was a retired self-employed subcontractor for more than 30 years. He was the owner of T3 Construction and a lifelong resident of Taft, Texas.

Preceding Trino in death are his parents Trinidad and Lucia Cortez.

Survivors include his wife: Eloisa R. Cortez of Taft, Texas; sons: Trinidad R. “Trino” Cortez (Melisa) and Thomas R. Cortez (Hope Garcia), both of Taft, Texas; daughters: Alma C. Moreno (Lupe, Sr.) of Ingleside, Texas; Diana C. Buendia (Juan, Jr.) of Taft, Texas; Gina Cortez (David) of Mathis, Texas and Elda C. Perez (Aaron) of Flour Bluff, Texas; 18 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brother: Samuel Cortez (Lucy) of Portland, Texas; sisters: Maria “Tute” Besinaiz and Janie Lopez (Rudy), both of Portland, Texas.

Visitation will begin Thursday, June 8, 2017, 3:00 PM, at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. A rosary will be recited the same evening, 7:00 PM, at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, June 9, 2017. 10:00 AM, at Immaculate Conception Church, Taft with Father Pete Stanley as celebrant. Burial will follow in Taft Memorial Park Cemetery, Taft.
