Virginia Santellana Garza

Odem – Virginia Santellana Garza passed away May 23, 2018. She was 84. Virginia was born in Odem, Texas on May 21, 1934 to Francisca (Garcia) and Cruz Santellana. She was a homemaker and lifelong resident of Odem, Texas.

Virginia is preceded in death by her husband Gilberto R. “Welo” Garza, Sr.; parents: Cruz and Francisca Santellana, Sr.; brother: Amado Santellana: and sister: Ester DeLeon.

Survivors include sons: Gilberto Garza, Jr. (Anita) of Odem, Texas; David Garza (Nancy Garcia) of Corpus Christi, Texas; daughters: Elena Mejias; Yolanda Garza; Alicia Gonzalez; Diana Garza (Arturo Lucio) and Virginia Garza (David C.), all of Odem, Texas; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Other survivors include brothers: Cruz Santellana, Jr.; Santiago Santellana, Sr. (Chavela); Aucencio “Teto” Santellana (Susana); Juan Santellana (Delia) and Ramon Santellana (Rosa), all of Odem, Texas; Frank “Pancho” Santellana (Frances) of Victoria, Texas and Richard Santellana of Corpus Christi, Texas; sisters: Olivia Perales of Odem, Texas and Eloisa Urbina (Beto) of Sinton, Texas.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 25, 2018, 4:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. A rosary will be held the same evening, 6:00 PM, at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, May 26, 2018, 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, Odem. Burial will follow in San Pedro Cemetery, Odem.
