Adela Licona Trevino Obituary

Taft - Adela Licona Trevino passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was 78 years old.

Adela was born on September 30, 1947 in Live Oak County to Consuelo (Cantú) and Herminio Licona. In 1963, she moved to Taft after marrying Jesus Trevino. There, she devoted herself to creating a warm and loving home for her family.

A quiet and reserved woman, Adela led by example—steadfast in her faith and deeply committed to her beliefs. She took great care in ensuring her children were raised in the Catholic faith and received their sacraments. Her role as a mother was her life’s work. Through home-cooked meals, a well-kept home and constant prayer, she expressed her love in simple but meaningful ways.

As her family grew, so did her joy. Becoming a grandmother brought her immense happiness, and the same gentle love she gave her children shone even brighter in the lives of her grandchildren. She found delight in life’s simple pleasures, especially the thoughtful gifts from her grandchildren—like the Buc-ee’s blankets she cherished so dearly.

Adela’s life was one of quiet strength, faith and devotion. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jesus Trevino; her son, Ricardo Trevino; her parents, Herminio and Consuelo Licona; her brother, Salvador Licona; and her sisters, Antonia Martinez and Lucia Morales.

She is survived by her children: Andres Trevino (Deanna Maria) from Gulfport, Mississippi; Victor Trevino (Indira) from Houston, Texas; Julia Alvarez (Demetrio) from Taft, Texas; Alfredo Trevino (Denise) from Taft, Texas; Roberto Trevino (Patricia) from Houston, Texas; David Trevino (Crystal) from Portland, Texas; and Jose Luis Trevino (Monica) from Taft, Texas. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, her sister Juanita Martinez from Beeville, Texas, and brothers Herminio Licona from Beeville, Texas; David Licona (Terry) from San Angelo, Texas; and Ezekiel Licona (Martha) from San Antonio, Texas.
