Alva John (Jack) Duncan, 87, died unexpectedly December 22, 2021 at a Corpus Christi Skilled Nursing Center. He was born March 19, 1934 in Mountain Park, OK, the son of Anderson Levi and Helen Katherine (Hendrickson) Duncan.
Jack joined the Navy at 17 and served as a bombardier during the Korean War. He graduated with a BA from Texas A&I University and taught 9th Grade Algebra at E. Merle Smith Junior High and Sinton High School in Sinton, Texas. He also did independent oil exploration and subsequently owned several other businesses. His last enterprise was building and managing an RV Park in Aransas Pass.
In addition to his parents, Jack was predeceased by his brother, Joseph A Duncan; his sister, Rosemary Solchenberger, and his son, Kevin Jay Duncan. He is survived by his brother, James M Duncan; his sister, Florence (Dotsy) Schreiner; his son, John Michael Duncan; his daughter, Cynthia Dawn Duncan, his grandsons, Shawn Duncan & Hunter Duncan; and his granddaughters, Ashley Duncan, Sara Hutchens, and Britni Robinson.
Jack will be interred at Corpus Christi Veterans Cemetery and a celebration of life will be held on his birthday – Saturday, March 19, 2022 with details to follow.
