Bay City/Taft – Alyssa Nicole Gonzales passed away on May 11, 2024. She was 29. Alyssa was born on February 1, 1995 to Teresa (Mata) and Raul Gonzales in Corpus Christi, Texas.  Alyssa worked as a waitress in several restaurants around Bay City. She was friendly, outgoing, the life of the party and enjoyed dancing. Alyssa adored her children, loved her family and friends. She was a very giving person.  Her crazy laughter will be missed by everyone.

Alyssa is preceded in death by her paternal grandmother: Lydia Gonzales; maternal grandfathers: Pedro Mata; uncle: Bobby Joe Mata; stepbrother: Sylvester “Junior” Hernandez, Jr.

Survivors include her loving husband: Joseph Cantu from Bay City, Texas; sons: Josiah Cantu and Joseph Cantu from Bay City, Texas; daughters: Danielle Rose Johnson and Jisella Cantu from Bay City, Texas; mother: Teresa Hernandez (Sylvester) from Bay City, Texas; father: Raul Gonzales (Christina) from Taft, Texas; brothers: Raul Gonzales, Jr., from Bay City, Texas and Ramiro C. Gonzales from Taft, Texas; sisters: Megan Gonzales, Summer Hernandez, Vanessa Hernandez and Roxanne Hernandez all from Bay City, Texas, Michelle Ortiz Gonzales from Sinton, Texas, and Allison Gonzales from Taft, Texas.

Visitation will begin Sunday, May 19, 2024, 2:00 PM- 9:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be the same evening, 7:00 PM at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, May 20, 2024, 1:00 PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Sinton. Interment will follow in Eternal Rest Cemetery, Sinton.
