Andrea Johnston Obituary

In Loving Memory of a Cherished Mother and Grandmother

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. On January 16, 2024, Andrea Dawn Miles Johnston passed away.

She was born on September 4, 1974, to David Hutchins and Anna Gillespie on Homestead Air Force Base in Florida. She held several community focused occupations, including time as an EMT, a police dispatcher, and substitute teacher. Her desire was to help others anywhere she could, and she did just that. Her life was a testament to her unwavering devotion to family. Known for her comedic charm, she brought joy and laughter to every gathering. She was a passionate advocate for children, always ready to open her home and heart to babysit neighborhood kids, creating a warm and welcoming space for all.

Her highest priority was family, as evidenced by her love for organizing movie and game nights amongst family and friends, as well as planning memorable vacations such as trips to theme parks and lakes. These cherished moments created a tapestry of memories that will be held dear by her family.

She was the heart of her family, a mother not only to her five children - Andrew Gurley, Alexander Gurley, Alandra Johnston, Seasan Johnston, and Alloura Miles - but also a guiding light and steadfast support to her two stepchildren - Amanda Williams and Ciara Williams. She leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, treasured by her mother, Anna Gillespie; her sister, Deonna Carro; her brother, David Miles; her stepchildren's father, Charles Williams; her nephews, David Miles Jr. and Mitchell Carro; her granddaughter’s mother, Amanda Gurley; and her adored grandchildren, Paisley Keill, Levi Keill, Maddison Malone, Cadence Owen, Cody Owen, Adalyn Williams, Sammy Lopez, Olivia Lopez, and Lyla Gurley. She also leaves behind a multitude of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Each of them will carry forward her tender spirit and enduring love.

As we bid farewell, we remember a woman of extraordinary warmth, whose nurturing presence was a blessing to many. She will be dearly missed, yet her legacy of love, laughter, and familial devotion will live on forever in the hearts of those into whom she instilled her teachings.

"Mom. Thank you for all that you have given us, and all that you have taught. You may rest now. Your job is done. We love you." – Her children and grandchildren.

Rest In Peace:
