Anita Magallan Ancira, 89, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026, leaving behind a family who loved her deeply and will miss her beyond words.
Anita was born on August 9, 1936, in Corpus Christi to Virginia (Lara) and Eliborio Magallan. She grew up with strong family values that remained at the heart of her life. Anita cherished spending time outdoors with her husband. Together they enjoyed working in the yard and sharing quiet mornings drinking coffee by the outdoor fireplace Dan lovingly built for them. Those simple moments brought her great joy.
She was preceded in death by her beloved children, Linda Sue Cherry and Dan Ancira, Jr., as well as her parents, Eliborio and Virginia Magallan.
Anita leaves behind her loving husband of 66 years, Dan Ancira of Aransas Pass; her grandchildren, Michael Cherry and Ryan Cherry; and her great-grandchildren, Ryan Leann Cherry and Isacc Cherry. She also leaves extended family members and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close in their hearts.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home in Aransas Pass with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM that evening. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 5, 2026, 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Aransas Pass. A Graveside service will be Friday, March 5, 2026, 2:00 PM at Rosewood Cemetery in New Caney, Texas.
