Anthony Lee Cantu Obituary
Anthony Lee Cantu passed away on September 23, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, stories, laughter and a family who will love and miss him forever.
He had his own way of doing things, his own jokes, his own stories and a personality that could make you laugh even when you probably weren’t supposed to. Those little things are what we’ll miss the most.
Anthony was born on June 23, 1979 in Taft, Texas to Olga (Soto) Cantu and the late Rene M. Cantu, Sr. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, grandfather and a one-of-a-kind dad who could make you laugh, shake your head and wonder how he came up with some of the things he said—all in the same conversation.
Anthony is preceded in death by his father, Rene M. Cantu, Sr.; his brother, Rene Cantu, Jr.; and his daughter, Avangelyn N. Cantu.
Anthony leaves behind his wife, Priscilla Cantu; his children, Devon Cantu, Adenah Cantu and Ayden Cantu; his grandchildren, Annais Cantu, Ava Cantu and Motley Cantu; his mother, Olga S. Cantu; his sister, Elizabeth Cantu; and his nieces and nephews, Jon, Alex, Avery, Jason, Jaxon Maressa and Jon David. Anthony’s family meant everything to him.
Being a Grandpa was one of Anthony’s greatest joys—and one of the titles he wore with the most pride. He loved nothing more than watching his grandchildren grow, making memories with them and being a part of their lives. Anthony’s presence could fill a room, and his absence leaves a space that can never truly be filled. He gave us memories that we will laugh about for years, stories that will be told over and over and moments that we will treasure forever.
Even when we miss him the most, we know there will always be something he did or said that makes us smile. Anthony may have left this world, but he will never leave the hearts of the people who loved him.
