Skidmore- Arturo Garza Castaneda passed away December 7, 2024. He was 73.

Arturo was born February 13, 1951 in San Diego, Texas to Maria (Garza) and Andres Castaneda. He was a resident of Skidmore all of his life.  Arturo was a former rancher. He was a member of Mount Zion Revival Center in Beeville, Texas. Arturo will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Preceding in death are his son: Johnny Castaneda; parents: Andres and Maria Castaneda; brother: Andres Castaneda, Jr.; sister-in-law: Norma Castaneda.

Survivors include his loving wife: Pabla Castaneda from Skidmore, Texas; sons: Michael Castaneda (Tracy) from Illinois; Arturo Castaneda, Jr. and Joshua Castaneda (Mary) all from Skidmore, Texas; daughters: Adelaida “Ide” Shaulis (Thomas); Teresa Fuentes (Jose) all from Skidmore, Texas; Darleen Crank (Richard) from Mathis, Texas; 15 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers: Joe Castaneda (Adelfa); Alejandro Castaneda; Luis Castaneda (Gloria) all from Skidmore, Texas; sisters: Elvira Vasquez (James) from Beeville, Texas and Janie Castaneda from Skidmore, Texas.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2024, 10:00 AM at the Resthaven Funeral Home, Sinton. Chapel services will be the same day, 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Skidmore.
