Taft – Aurora T. Hernandez passed away April 13, 2025. She was 86.
Aurora was born May 29, 1938 in Mexico to Avelina (Villanueva) and Federico Tobias. She was a resident of Taft for 60 years and spent her early years in Mexico. Aurora was previously employed as a housekeeper and a Home Health Provider. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Preceding in death are her husband: Felipe Hernandez; son: Jorge Luis Hernandez; daughter: Elsa Montez; and granddaughter: Patricia Montez.
Survivors include her daughters: Rosa Elena Cruz and Margie Longoria (Robert), all from Taft, Texas; 23 grandchildren: 45 great-grandchildren; step-daughter: Juanita Hernandez (Robert) from Sea Graves, Texas; and many extended family members.
Visitation will begin Wednesday, April 16, 2025, 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be the same evening, 6:00 PM at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, April 17, 2025, 9:30 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church in Taft. Burial will follow in Lamas Memorial Park Cemetery, Taft.
