Barbara Ann Mahan (née Le Mahieu), 81, passed away on November 18 in Aransas Pass, Texas. She was born Oct. 22 1944 at Fort Riley, Kansas, and raised in Oklahoma City, where she began a life rooted in kindness, humor, and quiet strength.

Barbara was a woman of many talents. She worked as a bank teller in her early years before beginning a long career as a civil servant at Tinker Air Force Base. She later retired from Raytheon Technologies, where she worked in security clearances. No matter where life or the military sent her family, she made every place feel like home — a gift she carried with her throughout her life.

She loved creating and caring for others. Barbara was an accomplished seamstress, a dedicated 4-H leader, and a proud Master Gardener. Much of her free time was spent sewing special items for her children and grandchildren, crocheting blankets for anyone she knew who was expecting, or tending to her garden. She had a soft spot for animals and made sure the family always had a dog to love. Her kitchen was a place of comfort, especially when she baked her famous chocolate chip cookies and molasses ginger cookies.

Barbara had a sharp, witty sense of humor and a generous, selfless heart. She was unflappable — she never got angry, and she gave to others without hesitation. Her family meant everything to her, and she poured her love into each of them in countless quiet ways.

She is preceded in death by her grandchildren Mikaela Coleman and Trevor Mahan, her parents Odessia Marie and Richard Allen Le Mahieu, and her brother Richard Le Mahieu.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jimmie Mahan; her children Michelle Wamsley and her husband Terry of Rusk, Texas; Cory Mahan of Hillman, Michigan; and Nicole Webster and her husband Keith of Corpus Christi, Texas. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Derik, Kolby, Kylar, Jessie, Liam, Skylah, Noah, Kayden, Parker, Bristol, Riley, Dawson, Merrick, and Fallon; and her great-grandchildren Jordin, Steven, and Jacob — all of whom meant the world to her.

She is lovingly remembered by the surviving aunts, uncles, and cousins who were central throughout her life and with whom she shared lifelong bonds. She is also survived by many siblings and extended family members who will forever cherish her memory.

A Graveside Service will be held, Tuesday, December 2, 2025, 1:00 PM, at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, Corpus Christi.
