Benita Villanueva Mata

Benita Villanueva Mata passed away peacefully March 11, 2025 with her loving family at her side.

Benita was born July 18, 1952 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Consuelo (Reyes) and Benito Villanueva. She was a resident of Odem 25 years, and former resident of Corpus Christi. Benita and her husband, Rick, made a home for their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a loving wife who was dedicated to her family. Benita will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

Preceding in death are her parents: Benito and Consuelo Villanueva; sisters: Lupe Martinez, Julia Humada and Eulalia Cantu.

Survivors include her husband: Rick Mata, Sr. from Odem, Texas; a son: Rick Mata, Jr. (Cynthia) from Corpus Christi, Texas; daughters: Gina Stallard (Sean) from Fredericksburg, VA and Christine Mata (Warlito Paradero) from Kingsville, Texas; 11 grandchildren: Andrew Mata, Stephen Mata (Kristin), Matthew Mata, Kennedy Mata, Isabella Stallard, Blake Stallard, Sofia Stallard, Jack Stallard, Hayley Davis (Zach), Daisie Rivas (Adrian) and Emily Paradero; 5 great-grandchildren: Lilian Rivas, Ivy Rivas, Zoe Mata, Joshua Mata and Wren Davis; brothers: Ramiro Villanueva (Pinkie) from Austin, Texas; Ruben Villanueva from San Antonio, Texas and Rafael Villanueva (Meredith) from Euless, Texas; sisters: Mary Gutierrez (Margarito), Beatrice Carrion (Ruben) and Margie Limon, all from San Antonio, Texas; Adela Ybarra (Jesse) from Ricardo, Texas; and many extended family members and friends.

Visitation will begin Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel in Sinton. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will follow, 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
