Rockport – Betty Graham Mickey passed away on August 12, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of beautiful memories and a family who loved her beyond measure. She was 86 years old.

Betty was born on December 2, 1939, in Lockney, Texas, to Acenith (Sanderson) and Glenn Kinard.  From the very beginning, Betty lived her life with a big heart, a strong spirit, and an incredible capacity to love. She was the kind of woman who loved with everything she had—deeply, fiercely, and wholeheartedly. When Betty loved you, you never had to question it.

Above all else, Betty's greatest joy was her family. Nothing made her happier than having the people she loved gathered together. A house full of family, conversation, laughter, and something delicious cooking in the kitchen was where Betty was most at home. She treasured those ordinary moments that, looking back, become some of life's most precious memories.

Betty had a gift for showing her love through the things she did for others. She loved to cook, and baking pies was one of her specialties. There was something special about food made by Betty because it was never made with just ingredients—it was made with love. Sitting around her table, enjoying one of her home-cooked meals or a slice of pie, was about so much more than eating. It was about family, togetherness, and the warmth she brought into every gathering.

Betty was also wonderfully fierce. She was strong, protective, loving, and devoted to the people who mattered most to her. She loved hard and cared deeply, and that love became the foundation of the family she cherished so much. Through every season of life, her family remained at the center of her heart.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and watching her family grow through the generations brought her tremendous pride and happiness. Each of them carries a piece of Betty with them—the lessons she taught, the traditions she created, the memories made around her table, and most importantly, the unconditional love she gave so freely.

Betty is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Glenn and Acenith Kinard.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving sons, Michael Mickey (Danea) of Rockport, Texas, and Randy Mickey (Kim) of Arlington, Texas; grandchildren, Christopher Mickey, Tyler Mickey, Kayla Buckner (Jared), Bradley Mickey (Kaitlyn) and Luke Humphrey (Meredith); and great-grandchildren, Parker Mickey, Kailyn Buckner, Brailyn Buckner, Francis Mickey, Madeline Mickey and Jackson Humphrey.

Betty's passing leaves an emptiness that words cannot fully describe, but the love she poured into her family will never leave them. She will live on in family gatherings, favorite recipes, pies baked with love, familiar stories told again and again, and in every moment her family comes together and remembers the remarkable woman who helped make them who they are.

Her family will miss her voice, her strength, her cooking, her fierce love, and simply having her nearby. While saying goodbye is incredibly difficult, they will forever be grateful for the privilege of loving Betty and being loved by her.

Her life was a beautiful reminder that some of the greatest things we leave behind cannot be measured—they are found in the people we loved, the memories we created, and the pieces of our hearts we gave away along the way. Betty gave her heart generously, and her love will remain with her family for generations to come.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at 10:00 am at First Baptist Church in Rockport, Texas. A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 22, 2026 AT 11:00 am in Lockney Cemetery, Lockney, Texas.
