Brian Anthony DeLeon Jr., lovingly known as “B,” was born on February 16, 2026, at 1:09 p.m. to his loving parents, Rhiannon and Brian DeLeon. He weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces and measured 19¾ inches long.

From the very beginning, Brian was a fighter. He was diagnosed with a rare congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), and from his very first breath until his last, he fought with a strength far greater than anyone could have imagined.

Although Brian spent his entire life inpatient at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, he never let the walls of a hospital define his life. He was the happiest, most loving little boy, and there was rarely a day when he didn't have his beautiful smile on his face. He brought light, joy, and love into every room he entered and touched the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Brian was the biggest “momma’s boy” and treasured his special “mommy and B snuggles.” He loved his mommy and daddy beyond measure and formed a special bond with his family that will never be forgotten. He was an incredibly smart and curious little boy who seemed to learn something new every day. His big, curious brown eyes were always taking in the world around him.

His days were filled with talking, playing with his toys and his “friends,” and spending time with his mommy, daddy, and grandma. He loved flirting with his nurses and quickly became a little favorite among the people who cared for him. He enjoyed watching his favorite movie, The Lion King, taking his naps, and going on walks around the hospital floor. He loved sitting and looking out of “the big windows,” taking in everything he could see. And, of course, one of his greatest loves of all was his “milkies.”

Throughout his short but extraordinary life, Brian endured three major open-heart surgeries, multiple cardiac catheterization procedures, countless X-rays, CT scans, ultrasounds, IVs and lines, and numerous cardiac echocardiograms. Through it all, he continued to smile, love, learn, and show everyone around him just how strong he was.

Brian was able to meet the majority of his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins, and he filled their lives with a love that can never be replaced. He lived a life full of love, courage, curiosity, and adventure. Though his time here was far too short, the impact he made in his six months will last a lifetime.

Brian passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026, at 4:06 p.m., surrounded by the greatest love he knew. He passed in his mommy’s arms while his daddy lovingly rubbed his head. He was just one day shy of his six-month birthday.

Brian is survived by his parents, Rhiannon and Brian DeLeon of Sinton, Texas; his maternal grandparents, Shannon and Justin Ohler of Sinton, Texas, and Ronson and Wanda Manygoats of Winslow, Arizona; his paternal grandmother, JoAnna Carranza of Sinton, Texas; his aunts and uncles, Megan and Cristian Muñoz, Izabella Ohler and Derek Garcia, Logan Ohler, Ethan Ohler, Nevaeh Carranza, and Taleya Ohler, all of Sinton, Texas; and his cousins, Mariana and Ella Muñoz of Sinton, Texas.

Brian will be laid to rest at Eternal Rest Cemetery in Sinton, Texas, following his funeral service.

Family and friends will gather for visitation on Thursday, August 20, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel in Sinton. A celebration of Brian’s life will be held that evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel in Sinton. Brian will be laid to rest at Eternal Rest Cemetery in Sinton following the service.

Brian was loved more deeply than words could ever express, and he will be missed more than words could ever say. His beautiful smile, curious eyes, sweet spirit, and the love he gave so freely will remain forever in the hearts of his family, friends, nurses, and everyone blessed to know him.

His life may have been short, but it was full of love.
