Sinton – Carolyn Lanelle Kaplan passed away on May 18, 2024. She was 86.

Carol was born on June 26, 1937 to Camie (Lamar) and Thomas Edward Rock in Cotulla, Texas.  She moved to Illinois as a child with her family. Carol graduated from Jerseyville High School.  She married Charles Kaplan on July 16, 1955, they moved to Sinton in 1970. Carol worked as a bookkeeper for Sinton Elevator before being promoted to Manager. She held this position until the company closed its doors.  In 1993, Carol started working at the Edroy CO-OP, she retired in 2015 after working for 22 years. Carol loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandson.  She loved to sit on her patio to look at her flowers, watch the birds and read her bible. Carol loved God and believed in Jesus with all her heart. She served in the nursery at Bay Area Fellowship for many years.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents: Thomas and Camie Rock; brother: William Rock; sister: JoAnn Trask.

Survivors include her loving husband: Charles Kaplan from Sinton, Texas; son: Ronald L. Kaplan (Laura) from Spicewood, Texas; daughter: Terri Dunlap from Sinton, Texas; 4 grandchildren: Samuel Dunlap, Sheri Camden (Andrew), Logan Kaplan and Doran Kaplan; 1 great grandchild: Charlie Camden; brother: Tom Rock (Barbara) from Illinois.  

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 25, 2024, 2:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. Interment will be private.
