Odem – Carolyn Phillips went to be with the Lord on October 17, 2024, reuniting with her beloved husband, Jimmy, and their two sons, Jerrell and Jimbo. She served the Lord with all her heart and soul, dedicating her life to her faith and family.
Carolyn was born January 19, 1942 in San Miguel, California to Robbie Lee (King) and Charles Edward Parmeley. She was a current resident of Odem and formerly resided in Calallen. Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who selflessly gave her time and love to those around her. She led many to Christ, extending grace, mercy, and forgiveness to all. Her life was a living example of who Christ is. A fierce prayer warrior, she found great joy in studying God’s word and walking in His ways. Her unwavering devotion and compassion touched the lives of many, leaving a legacy of love, faith, and service. Carolyn’s kindness and Christ-like spirit will continue to inspire, as she lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
Preceding in death are her husband: Jimmy Phillips; sons: Jimmy “Jimbo” Phillips and Jerrell Phillips; siblings: Charlene Nevels, Walter Furman Parmeley, Pat Hawkins, and Donnie Kings.
Survivors include her sons: Johnny Phillips (Linda) and Allen Phillips (Sheila) all from Odem, Texas; daughters: Tammy Bettiga from Beeville, Texas; Theresa Phillips from Corpus Christi, Texas; Trudy Franzone from Austin, Texas; grandchildren: Jeremy Phillips (Lacey), Brandice Chapman, Timothy Phillips (D’Andra), Royce Lee Malone, Priscilla Serda Martinez (Mark), John Richard Serda, Stephanie Phillips Gonzales (Angel), Cody Phillips, John Phillips, Miles Phillips, Austin Phillips (Lou Ann), Tyler Phillips, Hailey Phillips, Marcie Lawson (Matt), and Jerrell Phillips, Jr. (Kim); great-grandchildren: Natasha Phillips, Jeremiah Phillips, Madison Espericueta (Zechariah), Michael Hullum (Madison), James Hullum, Nathan Phillips, Jacob Phillips, Vayda Nunez, Avery Chapman, Bailey Chapman, Jade Phillips, Ryker Phillips, Violet Phillips, Mallory Malone, Royce Lee Malone IV, Gracie Martinez, Jay Martinez, Jude Gonzales, Annabelle Gonzales, Kiley Phillips, Adam Leon Phillips, Mckenna Lawson, Mason Lawson, Mia Lawson, Reese Phillips ; great-great grandchildren: Jameson Espericueta and Zoe Espericueta; brother: Charles Edward Parmeley, Jr. (Nancy Lee) from Alameda, California
Visitation will begin Wednesday, October 23, 2024, 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. A Funeral Service will be the same day, 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Odem.
