Charles Dustin Ellis Obituary

On the peaceful morning of June 20, 2025, Charles Dustin Ellis, extended his hand to a loving God after his receipt of comforting peace and his battle with cancer had come to an end. A long and difficult 4-year battle, Dustin so bravely approached each day with tenacity, grit and an unwavering commitment to fight the battle with his head held high. Giving in and giving up was never spoken of or considered by Dustin.

Born to Charles & Janice Ellis, Dustin was born March 11, 1980. From the first breath to the last, Dustin left a mark on everything that he touched. Dustin was a 1998 graduate of Skidmore-Tynan High School.

Dustin and Megan were married October 22, 2005. He loved his wife with his whole being. In April 2007, Dustin and Megan welcomed their first child, Charles Dwight Ellis (C.D.), into this world, followed by LoReece Lynn Ellis (Reece). His children were the beat of his heart and the smile on his face. Their family resided in Sinton for a few short years before moving to his family’s homestead in Papalote.

If any event involved his children, hunting, or sports Dustin was “all in!” Dustin was also an impeccable chef. A great gift that so many had the blessing of enjoying.  Their family was a familiar face in the San Patrico & Aransas County A&H show. He took great pride in raising responsible, driven and honorable children. Many late evening lessons were taught in the families show barn at home. These lessons taught are evident in his children today.

Dustin was blessed to have the opportunity to guide many gentlemen on annual Fall Quail hunts for Barnick Quail Guide Services as well as building relationships as a business owner. Dustin wore many hats and was never seen without one. He most often cherished his beloved Boston Red Sox Baseball hat, and a close second was his Never-ending S Fighting Pirates hat. His love for all sports ran thick in his blood. There was never a sporting or academic activity that Dustin was not present for.

Dustin joins grandparents, David & LoReece Ellis and A.E. and Doris McNabb in death, as well as an uncle, Terry McNabb.

Dustin leaves behind his wife, Megan Gregorczyk Ellis, son C.D. Ellis, daughter Reece Lynn Ellis, parents Charles & Janice Ellis, sister Deven Ellis Bowerman and husband Tom, Father & Mother-in-law, Dwight & Judy Gregorczyk. Sister-in-law Krista Graham and niece McKenzie Grace McElroy.

Uncles Donald (Kathy) McNabb and Mike (Carin) McNabb and Aunt Debbie (Don) Morelock. Cousins Mandy (Nate) Toon, Adam (Stacie) McNabb, Jared (Becca) Morelock.
