Christopher Shawn Summerfield

Rockport – Christopher Shawn Summerfield passed away on November 15, 2020. He was 41.

Chris was born on December 19, 1978 in Fredericksburg, Texas to Cheryl Lynn (Palmer) and Larry Keith Summerfield. He was a Tow Boat Captain employed by NGL Energy Partners in the NGL Marine Division. Chris loved his kids, family time, camping, fishing, family trips and his motorcycle. He was a loving husband, father, brother and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

Chris is preceded in death by his mother: Cheryl Lynn Palmer; his father: Keith Summerfield; grandmother: Wanda “Nana” Palmer; great-grandparents: John and Marion Palmer; O.C. and Daisy Cooper.

Survivors include his wife: Kristen Rae Summerfield; daughter: Makayla Lynn Summerfield; sons: C.J. Summerfield Jr. and Shawn Evan Summerfield, all of Rockport Texas; sisters: Stephanie Summerfield of Aransas Pass, Texas; Amanda Summerfield of Port Aransas, Texas; father: Robert Alan Sherman of Rockport, Texas; grandfather: Jack Palmer of Aransas Pass, Texas; niece: Shelby Cryer of Whitney, Texas , Nephews: Cody (amber) Summerfield of Aransas Pass, Texas, A.J Cryer of Whitney, Texas, Zander Wilson of Rockport, Texas; in-laws: Terri and David Jamison of Rockport, Texas; brothers-in-law: Andrew Wright (Nina) of Kingsville, Texas; Matthew Wright (Rose Lopez) of Rockport, Texas; Michael Jamison (Megan) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Matthew Jamison (Kayleigh) of Midland, Texas; Nicholas Jamison (Kaitlyn) of Rockport, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2020, 5:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Aransas Pass. A Chapel Service will be held on Sunday, November 22, 2020, 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Prairie View Cemetery, Aransas Pass.
