Cruz G. Rodriguez, Jr.

Odem – Cruz G. Rodriguez, Jr., 67, went to be with our Lord on October 31, 2020.

Cruz was born on March 9, 1953 in Odem, Texas to Cruz Sr. and Estanislada (Gonzalez) Rodriguez. He was a lifelong resident of Odem. Cruz was employed by  Odem ISD as a Mechanic and Bus Driver for 15 years. He enjoyed watching the Cowboys and working on his 1967 Chevelle Super Sport. Cruz was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

Preceding in death are his parents: Cruz Sr. and Estanislada Rodriguez; a sister: Amparo Rodriguez; and brother: Robert Rodriguez.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years: Irene Rodriguez from Odem, Texas; children: Alex Morin (Norma); Cruz Rodriguez, III (Cynthia); Michael Rodriguez (Chloe), all from Odem, Texas; grandchildren: Brandon Morin, Bailey Rodriguez, Brooklyn Rodriguez and a granddaughter on the way, all from Odem, Texas; siblings: Diana Hastings (Joe) from Corpus Christi, Texas; Sylvia Rodriguez (Rodrigo) from Mathis, Texas; Lupio Rodriguez (Sarah) from Corpus Christi, Texas; Clemencia Garcia and Alma Rodriguez, both from Odem, Texas. He was also blessed with numerous extended family members, nieces, nephews  and friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 5, 2020, 6:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will follow the same evening, 7:00 PM at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, November 6, 2020, 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Church in Odem. Burial will follow in San Pedro Cemetery, Odem.
