Cynthia Anne Getzelman Obituary

Cynthia Anne Getzelman passed away peacefully at her home in Sinton, Texas, on November 3, 2025. She was 80.

Cynthia was born on August 31,1945 in Hollister, California. She was the cherished daughter of Frances (Thomas) and L.D. Hawkins. She spent her early years in California before making her home in South Texas, living in Odem a short time and later settling in Sinton.

Cynthia dedicated many years to CP&L Electric Company, where she worked in Human Resources. Her professionalism, compassion, and steady presence left a lasting impression on colleagues and friends alike.

Above all, Cynthia was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose visits lit up her days. She spoke often of the happiness they brought her and the pride she felt in each of them.

Cynthia is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Cy Getzelman; her parents, L.D. and Frances Hawkins; and her brother, Lynn Hawkins.

Cynthia is lovingly remembered by her son: Rusty Vickers (Yvonne) from Calallen, Texas; her daughters: Jennifer Vickers (Clayton Carter) from Nederland, Texas and Mendy Vickers (Michael Mokry) from Sinton, Texas; grandchildren: Ryan Matthews (Addie) from Deer Park, Texas; Jalyn Thomas (Brandon) from Calallen, Texas; Kassity Pullin (Tommy) from Sinton, Texas; Sean Vickers (Amanda) and Dessirae Weber (Mason), all from Calallen, Texas; 10 great-grandchildren; her sister: Carla Brown (Gene) from McAllen, Texas; a sister-in-law: Helen Hawkins from Edinburg, Texas.
